Abstract
This article discusses the very recent book resulting from the International Conference Le tenebrose. Figure di femme fatale nel cinema e nei media europei fra mito e contemporaneità (December 2022), the aim of which was to investigate a female figure that accompanies the history of cinema from its beginnings to the present day. The «Tenebrosa», the femme fatale, she who thanks to her skilfully deployed charm knows how to bewitch and manipulate men to achieve her own ends. In particular, in this volume, the analysis is directed towards understanding the various representations of this figure provided by the different European social and film cultures. American noir with its dark ladies has, generally speaking, captured all critical attention and until recently, research devoted to their European counterpart was very rare. Such an unjustified absence has now prompted two colleagues to open up a new field of study and to engage in the exploration of the European and Italian configuration of these female figures defined as «Tenebrose» precisely in order to enhance the autonomy and specificity of the typology investigated here.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
