Abstract
Fragment 8 in Diels and Kranz's collection of Prodicus' remains is derived from a long passage of the Eryxias, narrating a disastrous exhibition of the sophist in the Lyceum. The value of this material for the reconstruction of the sophist's ethical thought has been long debated, albeit often in an erratic way. This paper offers a status quaestionis as well as a proposal for the recovery of genuine information about the thinker's reflection on good and evil from the Eryxias passage.File in questo prodotto:
