The aim of this position paper is to explore the ethical boundaries of Artificial Intelligence (AI), while trying to capture its imminent yet unrealized developments. The argumentation is enhanced by futurology methods such as the Horizon scanning and the Futures Wheel. These are further enriched through three paradoxes and three borderline scenarios featuring Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) to present a possible path towards its timely and effective integration into society.
