Gingivitis is a non-specific inflammatory reaction of the marginal gingiva, which shows a high prevalence in children with a peak around puberty. Several local and systemic factors may determine the inflammatory process, and it has been shown that the dental plaque is a main determinant of gingivitis. Therefore, careful monitoring of dental plaque through daily operations and regular oral hygiene are fundamental to the prevention of gingivitis, as well as a careful evaluation by the Pediatrician in informing parents on the risks of gingivitis and to prevent the occurrence of severe and irreversible forms.

Abstract
Gingivitis is a non-specific inflammatory reaction of the marginal gingiva, which shows a high prevalence in children with a peak around puberty. Several local and systemic factors may determine the inflammatory process, and it has been shown that the dental plaque is a main determinant of gingivitis. Therefore, careful monitoring of dental plaque through daily operations and regular oral hygiene are fundamental to the prevention of gingivitis, as well as a careful evaluation by the Pediatrician in informing parents on the risks of gingivitis and to prevent the occurrence of severe and irreversible forms.File in questo prodotto:
