Identity transfusion in Azul of Ruben A. · This article proposes an analysis of the short story Azul, included in Ruben A.’s work Cores, that not only highlights the social criticism directed at Portuguese society, but also opens up space for possible alternative readings, centered on reflections on individual identity, its relationship with society and cultural norms, as well as the broader debate – still in its infancy at the time – on gender identity. Based on a hypothetical dialogue with Orlando : A Biography by Virginia Woolf in the context of reflections emerging in the first half of the twentieth century, the study observes how both works are configured as veritable observatories of the present, capturing the tensions, shifts and metamorphoses that traverse contemporaneity.
