This introduction is divided into three sections. First, it examines the existing historiography on Catholic anti-Protestantism, arguing that, unlike anti-Catholicism, anti-Protestantism has not undergone a transnational turn. Second, it explores the new perspectives opened up by taking a global approach to Catholic anti-Protestantism. Finally, it summarises the key conclusions of the special issue, "Anti-Protestantism in the Global Catholic Mission, c. 1918–1960."
