With volume 44 the Schedario Marche of the Rivista Italiana di Dialettologia resumes after an interruption of more than twenty years (1977-1998, edited by Maria Valeria Miniati). This instalment presents forty annotated entries (nos. 77-116) on studies, lexical repertoires, text editions and other materials, including non-academic ones, concerning the dialects of the Marche, arranged by province (General; Ancona; Ascoli Piceno; Fermo; Macerata; Pesaro-Urbino) and selected from the works published during the long gap, with the recovery of older titles that are still useful. An introduction sets out the selection criteria and the new territorial arrangement, which takes into account the province of Fermo (established in 2004) and the transfer of the Alta Valmarecchia municipalities to Emilia-Romagna (2009), justifying it on dialectological grounds as well (the isogloss of final vowels along the river Aso).
