The typification of the name Polygala pisaurensis is revised. The specimen previously selected as lectotype by P.V. Arrigoni was collected in July 1879, after publication of the protologue, and cannot be considered original material. A specimen preserved in the Caruel collection at the Pisa Herbarium (PI) is here designated as the lectotype.
