The Authors propose an updated interpretation of the Pontremoli 1 stratigraphic log, based on the new tectonic, lithostratigraphic and biostratigraphic data resulting from the realization of the new Geological Map of Italy - Sheet n. 233 Pontremoli at 1:50,000 scale. The Pontremoli 1 hole was drilled in 1971 close to Pontremoli (Massa-Carrara province, Tuscany) for hydrocarbon searching. The first interpretations pointed out some out sequence units that the new surface surveys did not verify: the need of reconstructing a new underground structure comes from this fact.
