This article examines in depth the structure and contents of a recently published, corpus-based, English collocations dictionary (the Macmillan Collocations Dictionary for Learners of English), considering it from the points of view of language description, second-language pedagogy and lexicographical presentation. The dictionary is considered within the wider context of collocations dictionaries and special comparison is made with the similarly corpus-based Oxford Collocations Dictionary for Students of English. Reference is also made to the Academic Word List, which was a point of reference in the compilation of the dictionary.

Abstract
This article examines in depth the structure and contents of a recently published, corpus-based, English collocations dictionary (the Macmillan Collocations Dictionary for Learners of English), considering it from the points of view of language description, second-language pedagogy and lexicographical presentation. The dictionary is considered within the wider context of collocations dictionaries and special comparison is made with the similarly corpus-based Oxford Collocations Dictionary for Students of English. Reference is also made to the Academic Word List, which was a point of reference in the compilation of the dictionary.File in questo prodotto:
