In this paper the Qatabanic lexical items hr, qrd, fy, hlk, mn hy, td and wzl are examined from a linguistic and philological perspective and the historical, cultural and comparative implications are also emphasised. Ancient South Arabian is considered as one independent branch within Semitic comprising several different cognate languages.
