APGAR scoring, HR, RR and BT were recorded in 23 Friesian calves. Inclusion criteria: vaginal delivery and >275 days of gestation, APGAR ≥7, N/L≥2. The time needed to raise the head, acquire sternal recumbency, stand up were recorded. Blood samples were drowed before first feeding (T0) and 24h of age. A CBC count, lactate and glucose concentrations were evaluated. The head was raised immediately in 23/23, sternal recumbency was acquired in 7,2±1,5’, standing up in 23,2±7,7’. At T0 and T24, lactatemia was 4,3±1,6 and 3,4±0,6 mmol/L, glicemia 102,9±43,8 and 136,8±40,7 mg/dl, WBC 11,2±3 and 8,4±1,7 K/μL, RBC 8,2±1 and 6,6±1,9 M/μl, Hgb 10,7±1,5 and 8,9±2,3 gr/dl, Hct 35,8±6,1 and 21,3±2,4%, MCV 43,7±4,5 and 36,6±2,9 fL, MCH 13,1±1,1 and 11,9±0,9 Pg, MCHC 29,6±3,2 and 30,8±0,6 gr/dl, PLT 258,5±153,7 and 289,4±89,9 K/μL, respectively. Abstract

Some of the semeiotic data, haematological and biochemical values showed some differences respect to data reported in literature.
