The paper presents a preliminary investigation of potential configurations for the management of several aircraft flying in formation. Although no specific mention is made, tha main purpose of the study is to address formation flying in the general context of unmanned and/or unhabited airvehicles, and in the context of maintaining formation in the presence of system failures such as the loss of a component. The paper shows typical formation arrangements, and investigates redundancy of inter-vehicle information exchange based on minimum cost flux algorithms.

Abstract
The paper presents a preliminary investigation of potential configurations for the management of several aircraft flying in formation. Although no specific mention is made, tha main purpose of the study is to address formation flying in the general context of unmanned and/or unhabited airvehicles, and in the context of maintaining formation in the presence of system failures such as the loss of a component. The paper shows typical formation arrangements, and investigates redundancy of inter-vehicle information exchange based on minimum cost flux algorithms.File in questo prodotto:
