The aim of this paper is to present a simulator for the power system of series and parallel hybrid-electric vehicles (HEV’s). A user-friendly simulator is a useful tool for the analysis and design of both the power and control parts of HEV’s. The peculiarity of the simulator presented lies in its capability to easily simulate both the HEV power system and the correlated control system as a combination of primitive modules modeling the main subsystems and devices involved. A different combination of such modules permits so to “build” the model of many different HEV configurations and to easily simulate them. The simulation models were implemented in the ambit of the integrated Matlab-Simulink environment; in the paper some of the main modules developed are described, and a few application examples are presented.

Abstract
The aim of this paper is to present a simulator for the power system of series and parallel hybrid-electric vehicles (HEV’s). A user-friendly simulator is a useful tool for the analysis and design of both the power and control parts of HEV’s. The peculiarity of the simulator presented lies in its capability to easily simulate both the HEV power system and the correlated control system as a combination of primitive modules modeling the main subsystems and devices involved. A different combination of such modules permits so to “build” the model of many different HEV configurations and to easily simulate them. The simulation models were implemented in the ambit of the integrated Matlab-Simulink environment; in the paper some of the main modules developed are described, and a few application examples are presented.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
