In this paper, we present recent extensions of Generative Lexicon theory (Pustejovsky, 1995; Pustejovsky, 1998) in the context of the development of large-scale lexical resources for twelve different European languages: the SIMPLE model. The development of lexical resources must be guided by an underlying framework for structuring word meaning and generating concepts, which satisfies both onto logical considerations as well as the need to capture linguistic generalizations. The model presented here is a proposal toward this goal.

Abstract
In this paper, we present recent extensions of Generative Lexicon theory (Pustejovsky, 1995; Pustejovsky, 1998) in the context of the development of large-scale lexical resources for twelve different European languages: the SIMPLE model. The development of lexical resources must be guided by an underlying framework for structuring word meaning and generating concepts, which satisfies both onto logical considerations as well as the need to capture linguistic generalizations. The model presented here is a proposal toward this goal.File in questo prodotto:
