An original method is illustrated for assessing the fire damage to reinforced-concrete buildings. The basic idea underlying the method is to reconstruct the thermal history and the evolution of stress fields in the building during the fire by utilising the irreversible thermo-chemical reactions of the concrete aggregates as temperature indicators. By way of example, the method is applied to real cases to demonstrate its validity and effectiveness.

Abstract
An original method is illustrated for assessing the fire damage to reinforced-concrete buildings. The basic idea underlying the method is to reconstruct the thermal history and the evolution of stress fields in the building during the fire by utilising the irreversible thermo-chemical reactions of the concrete aggregates as temperature indicators. By way of example, the method is applied to real cases to demonstrate its validity and effectiveness.File in questo prodotto:
