L'arca

The result of a series of transformations carried out the postwar period, this wooden construction, built on piles over water, was converted into a restaurant and bar with a project that maintained the character of the original building-type. The latter, of Anglo-American origin and uncommon in the Mediterranean area, was reinvigorated by alterations tending to emphasize its purpose thanks to the use of a limpid, retained style paying homage to Rationalist architecture as it was applied to the first modern ships.

Frutto di una serie di trasformazioni succedutesi dal dopoguerra a oggi questa costruzione a palafitta posta sull'acqua, in legno, è stata trasformata in un bar-ristorante con un progetto che ha aderito pienamente al carattere della tipologia originaria. Questa di matrice anglosassone, poco frequente nel mediterraneo, è rivitalizzata da soluzioni che tendono a enfatizzarne il senso grazie a un linguaggio limpido e misurato che vuol essere un tributo a quell'architettura razionalista proprio applicata alle prime navi moderne.
