Abstract

In this article, two innovative teaching activities are presented and described, both involving the first lessons of new language courses. One relates to the students’ future course book, and involves familiarizing the students with the text’s macrostructure, the organization of individual units, and other organizational and typographical aspects. The second activity relates to beginners, and revolves around the fact that even beginners have some knowledge of English, knowledge which is taken advantage of in order to present certain characteristics of the English language.
