(R)(-)-(Z)-14-Methyl-8-hexadecenal and (R)(-)-(E)-14-methyl-8-hexadecenal, alone or in a 92:8 mixt., elicited attraction and attempted mating in unmated male Khapra beetles (Trogoderma granarium).  However, the concns. required (≥0.1 μg for 50% attraction) were much greater than for the corresponding (S)(+) compds. (10-8-10-9 μg).  (R)-(E)-14-Methyl-8-hexadecen-1-ol were even less active.
