The effects of light quality on callus production in explants of three poinsettia cultivars were evaluated. Compared to white light, the red one induced about three times greater callus formation while the blue light exerted a negative effect. Photoreceptor appear to be involved in such responses: our findings suggested that phytochrome played a positive role, which appeared to be inhibited by an antagonistic interaction with cryptochrome.

Abstract
The effects of light quality on callus production in explants of three poinsettia cultivars were evaluated. Compared to white light, the red one induced about three times greater callus formation while the blue light exerted a negative effect. Photoreceptor appear to be involved in such responses: our findings suggested that phytochrome played a positive role, which appeared to be inhibited by an antagonistic interaction with cryptochrome.File in questo prodotto:
