A recent direct measurement of the He-3(He-3, 2p)He-4 reaction at the underground accelerator facility LUNA (Laboratori Nazionali del Gran Sasso, Italy) covered the energy range from 16.5 to 25 keV in the center of mass. The possibility of a very low energy resonance in this reaction can not be ruled out. We critically discuss the effects of such a resonance on the solar neutrino production and on the He-3 stellar yields for low and intermediate mass stars.

Abstract
A recent direct measurement of the He-3(He-3, 2p)He-4 reaction at the underground accelerator facility LUNA (Laboratori Nazionali del Gran Sasso, Italy) covered the energy range from 16.5 to 25 keV in the center of mass. The possibility of a very low energy resonance in this reaction can not be ruled out. We critically discuss the effects of such a resonance on the solar neutrino production and on the He-3 stellar yields for low and intermediate mass stars.File in questo prodotto:
