In this paper we analyze how the elements in the Microsoft Authenticode interface influence final users’ decisions about downloading code from the Internet. Results show that the users’ behavior appears to be mostly driven from the code publisher name, without considering other information provided by the interface. A proposal to improve the user interface is currently under evaluation.
