In this paper the Authors have studied the architectural lighting of the seventeenth-century public building Logge di Banchi in Pisa (Italy). The Logge di Banchi is located within the pedestrian route leading from the railway station up to Piazza dei Miracoli and to the Leaning Tower through Ponte di Mezzo on the Arno river and the medieval Piazza dei Cavalieri. The lighting design expresses the synthesis of aesthetic-scenographic, functional, safety, energy saving and environmental compatibility requirements.
