The chemical and electrochemical behaviour of compounds of the type [Co(C(5)R(5))(2)][M(CO)(n)] (R = H, Me; M = Mn; n = 5; R = H; M = Co, n = 4; M = V; n = 6) was studied. A relationship between the chemical behaviour and the redox potentials of the components of the complexes was obtained. The reduction of [MnX(CO)(5)] (X = Cl, Br or I) by cobaltocene in different solvents was studied by both chemical and electrochemical methods.
