Abstract
Photoassisted processes in C60/O2 mixtures unpair spins which delocalize themselves in a symmetric environment. A partial spin-pairing occurs at the calorimetric onset of a reversible, structural transition in the mixture where mass spectroscopy evidences remarkable amounts of oxygen weakly bound to the fullerene lattice. The hypothesis that the paramagnetic species is the cation C60+ is discussed.File in questo prodotto:
