In this review of a new monolingual Engilsh learners’ dictionary, four different critera are used to assess the value of the dictionary. These relate to: typographical presentation, comprehensiveness, pedagogical usefulness as regards both comprehension and production, and the various types of information to be found in the Introduction and the Appendices.
