This article deals with the sources of Yishaq Abravanel’s first philosophical work, the Tsurot ha-yesodot (The Forms of the Elements), in order to examine the counterinfluences exerted by Arabic and Jewish philosophy on Abravanel‘s thought. After a summary of the works which Abravanel mentioned, the author’s analysis return to the standpoint of Abravanel’s philosophical sources. The present study, representing a historico-philosophical approach to the topic, attempts to throw light on this less studied aspect of Abravanel’s literary work.
