The aim of this study is to evakluate the periodontal status in pregnant woman in different gestion periods. Sixty pregnant woman where included and then divided into thre group: 20 patients in the first trimester of pregnancy (29.5 +/- 3,1 years), 20 patients in the second trimester of pregnancy (28.8 +/- 2.8 years) and 20 patients in the third trimester of pregnancy (29.1 +/- 4.5 years) a questionaire including information about daily hygene and diet, whos filled in by each patient and an examination of the periodontal tissue was performed in order to measure the following parameters: plaque accumukation, blending and probing, probing depth, and clinical attachemnt loss. The Chi square test was used to evaluate diferences among the groups among the groups. The significant difference rate was set as p <0.005. Patients in the third trimester of pregnancy showed a higher percentage of plaque accumuation (92%), blending on probing (86%) and probing depth (79%) then woman in the first and second trimester (p<0.05). No significant differences where observed among the three groups as regards clinical attachment loss (p<0.005). According to the result of this study women in pregnancy exhibited high levels of plaque accumulation and gengival inflammation especially during the third trimenster of pregnancy.
