La negazione in poesia e l’uso “poetico” di nicht

Gli studi linguistici tendono a descrivere la poeticità identificando e descrivendo usi linguistici non convenzionali, ma rinvenuti nei testi caratterizzati da funzione poetica. Si tenta qui una via diversa: identificare la potenziale ambiguità espressiva dei mezzi linguistici quali “indicatori grammaticali di poeticità”. Si esplora qui il caso del mezzo di negazione “nicht” del tedesco. Linguistic analyses of poeticity tend to outline and describe as poetic uncommon language usages that are typically found in texts characterized by the poetical function. This article attempts a new way of approaching poeticity from a general point of view concerning the language systems itself and the functioning of its grammatical structures. The structures capable of codifying information in such a way, as to leave it up to the interpreter to disambiguate the meaning of a given expression, are seen as potential indicators of poeticity. Focus of this article is the German word of negation nichtand its various uses in poetic texts. Some of these uses are then considered as ‘regular’ uses of nichtin poetic texts. Only some of them are seen as complying with a ‘poetic’ use in itself, considering their ability to produce semantic ambiguity.
