This paper is devoted to the analysis of the linguistic phenomenon of Tag Questions (TQs) in English in relation to the notion of complexity (Merlini Barbaresi 2003). More specifically, TQs have been studied from the perspective of a particular type of audiovisual translation – i.e. dubbing – taking into consideration their use in some movies and making a comparison with their dubbed versions in Italian. This study is based on a small corpus of data that includes six films.
