Remodelage of the postwar architectural heritage

The reconstruction after Second World War contributed to the development of cities and the creation of an impressive architectural heritage. Over the years society, family model, lifestyle and housing needs in general were subjected to profound changes, so the interior distribution of housing needs a revision. Besides, these buildings are obsolete and would need to adapt to the global energy standards statutory compliance. The analysis of the critical issues which affect these neighborhoods and buildings allows to draft guidelines for action. The goal is to mend the energy and seismic obsolescence and the physical degradation and to establish these buildings in the urban context as locations for collective utility functions and outdoor social gatherings. The data collected by the institutional management allow critical classification of the interventions to be implemented on existing building structures and, thanks to the analytical study of models already carried out, it is possible to identify the basic strategic lines.
