Publication of an unusual relief from a temple sacred to the bull Buchis, probably from Armant or Tod, now in India, in the Baroda Museum. The stone slab has been studied by M. Betrò in the frame of a project funded by the MIUR, aimed at a censing and publication of ancient Egyptian collections in India. The relief had been previously described only briefly by E. Drioton in 1945, in the bulletin of the Baroda museum. The article examines in detail the iconography of the androgynous god represented before the bull, and the accompanying text, discussing the theological concepts emerging from the inscription and the scene, and suggesting a date between the end of the Ptolemaic and early Roman period.

Abstract
Publication of an unusual relief from a temple sacred to the bull Buchis, probably from Armant or Tod, now in India, in the Baroda Museum. The stone slab has been studied by M. Betrò in the frame of a project funded by the MIUR, aimed at a censing and publication of ancient Egyptian collections in India. The relief had been previously described only briefly by E. Drioton in 1945, in the bulletin of the Baroda museum. The article examines in detail the iconography of the androgynous god represented before the bull, and the accompanying text, discussing the theological concepts emerging from the inscription and the scene, and suggesting a date between the end of the Ptolemaic and early Roman period.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
