The international workshop, which was attended by students the LUV of architecture (head of Ewa Karwacka and prof.ssa prof.ssa Denise Ulivieri, University of Pisa) and students of the Faculty of architecture of the Polytechnic of Warsaw (head Ph.d Justyna Zdunek-Wielgo łaska, Department of Polish Architecture Faculty of Architecture Warsaw University of Technology), was dedicated to the theme of the exploitation of the archaeological area of Vallebuona, characterized by the presence of the remains of the monumental Roman Theatre and baths.This area, like other parts of the city, is suffering from the connection with the central urban areas and shows a lack of an adequate plan of fruition. In addition, the current accommodation- pedestrian access at the Porta Fiorentina, situated laterally to the compositional axis of romano-hinders a proper and comprehensive observation of the remains of the monument, and the occult close liaison which the theatre had originally with the forensic area (the city centre). The study of knowledge-indispensable for understanding the value and extent of the monument, as well as its historical and environmental context-was performed by students of LUV, while proposals were sketched by the students of the the Faculty of architecture of the Polytechnic of Warsaw in collaboration with Italian colleagues. The historical survey-divided into bibliographic search; exegesis of archival sources (manuscripts, iconographical and cartography) and current documentation retrieval; analysis of the architectural structure and the remains preserved in situ; identification of specimens preserved in town-formed the base for project proposals, offering even a small contribution to cognitive framework exists.

Valorizzazione dell'area archeologica del teatro-terme in Vallebuona a Volterra: analisi conoscitiva e proposte progettuali
