The aim of this paper is to present an interpretation of the present social construction of sex in PCP terms, and to offer an example of a dialogue between PCP and various other disciplines in the radical constructivist/social constructionist field. By drawing on discourse analysis, Foucault's writings on sexuality, Rosch's prototype theory and Sack's research on categories, the first half of the paper argues that sex is a core construct in contemporary social discourse. The second half of the paper explores the role of the social construction of sex in shaping individual constructions of sexual experience through reference to Kelly's Fundamental Postulate and eleven corollaries.

Abstract
The aim of this paper is to present an interpretation of the present social construction of sex in PCP terms, and to offer an example of a dialogue between PCP and various other disciplines in the radical constructivist/social constructionist field. By drawing on discourse analysis, Foucault's writings on sexuality, Rosch's prototype theory and Sack's research on categories, the first half of the paper argues that sex is a core construct in contemporary social discourse. The second half of the paper explores the role of the social construction of sex in shaping individual constructions of sexual experience through reference to Kelly's Fundamental Postulate and eleven corollaries.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
