The functional results of 94 modular cemented prosthesis of the proximal humerus are reported. Excellent or good results were obtained in 66% of the patients who had an intra-articular resection but only in 36% of the patients who had a Tikhoff-Linberg resection. Better functional results were observed in atypical (transglenoid) Tikhoff-Linberg resections than in classic types. The overall complication rate was 13% (5% mechanical; 8% infective). No case of aseptic loosening was observed.

Abstract
The functional results of 94 modular cemented prosthesis of the proximal humerus are reported. Excellent or good results were obtained in 66% of the patients who had an intra-articular resection but only in 36% of the patients who had a Tikhoff-Linberg resection. Better functional results were observed in atypical (transglenoid) Tikhoff-Linberg resections than in classic types. The overall complication rate was 13% (5% mechanical; 8% infective). No case of aseptic loosening was observed.File in questo prodotto:
