Within the area of the Mediterranean civilization, the multiplicity of objects – agalmata and anathemata –, made precious by the metal, enables the study of many human functions and activities. The reading carried out in this paper is founded on a historical-anthropological approach, of which a concrete example is provided through the works by Louis Gernet.
