ThePKprofiles ofmarbofloxacin fit abicompartmentalmodelandweredosedependent.The Tmax and half-liferangedbetween2.82to4.64hoursand16.14 to30.68hours,respectively.Bacteriaisolation showedthepresenceofboth Eschericacoli and Salmonella spp. Salmonella spp. wereisolatedonly48hoursafter the administrationofmarbofloxacin andallstrainswereconsideredresistant.Resultsseemtosuggestthateven if marbofloxacinisabletoreachconsiderableplasmaconcentrations, itcanstillbeineffectiveagainstbacteria that arepotentialanimalandhumanpathogens.
