In CIL VI 41127 both G.L. Gregori and G. Alfoeldy see a "new senator of Commodian age", [- I]unius [- - - / Pris]cus. Moreover, Gregori identifies him with Priscus, a legionary legate who refused the imperial acclamation in Britain under Commodus (C.D., 72,9,2a; HA, Comm., 8,4). As a matter of fact, this Priscus is to be identified with T. Caunius Priscus, legatus of Numidia in AD 185-186, as in the Roman inscription we read [leg. Au]g. pr. pr. leg. III [Aug.], instead of leg. II I[talicae]. The episode in Britain can be dated in AD 181-182 and gave rise to subsequent Priscus' promotions.
