Riscritture nibelungiche dell’amore nel profondo Sud americano

A wretched village in the desolate and racist Georgia of the Great Depression stages an unexpected revival. An astonishing ‘triangle’ of outcasts magically brings a quiet and miserable hamlet back to life, but rivalry soon jeopardizes this rebirth with the protagonists engaging in a ‘heroic’ struggle like powerful, ruthless divinities. Elements like courage and deception, denial of sexuality and gender conflicts, as well as ubiquitous greed, allow the story to be traced back to the Nibelung-Volsung legends, reworked through a new pathos which recalls Wagner’s and Nietzsche’s views.
