However, it is difficult to understand how the short fantastic tale attributed to Euhemerus can be reconciled with his rationalistic interpretation of the traditional religion. Secondary, it is not clear why Columella calls Euhemerus poet. The aim of this article is to suggest an explanation of these phenomena.
