Le prospettive future e le motivazioni degli studenti del corso di laurea in igiene dentale

OBJECTIVES The purpose of the present study was to analyze the dental hygienist students' motivations for choosing this programme and future job prospectives. MATERIALS AND METHODS A multiple choice questionnaire was filled by dental hygiene students. Data collected from the questionnaire were statistically analyzed and Chi-Test was used; the level of significance was set at p<0.05. RESULTS The passion for the subject was the most selected response. In addition, the most desired future prospective is to work in a profession al office. Nearly half of the students are worried about not finding employment after graduation and most students are not sure to have a job at the end of the course. CONCLUSIONS Knowledge of dental hygienist students perspectives and motivations is a useful tool for the dental hygiene profession.
