The behaviour and aggressiveness of fattening rabbits were investigated in different systems. 12 rabbits housed in cage, 30 and 15 rabbits raised in wire netted pens (P15 and P30) were recording by videotape (from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM) at weaning, 60 days and slaughtering age. Scan-sampling method was used to evaluate behaviour (1’ every 10’). Ad libitum sampling was used to study aggressiveness (all animals and tapes). All interactions solved with a dominant-subordinate pattern were considered aggressive behaviours. Results showed more activity in rabbits housed in the pens than in the cages. Aggressive behaviours appeared early in both wire netted pens. P15 showed the higher percentages attack than P30 at every age (P<0.01). Within P30 the number of attacked rabbits significantly increased at slaughtering age (P<0.01), and, always behaviour differed by a stable linear dominant hierarchy. The increased activity and the aggressiveness showed a consequent no-welfare status.
