Una sfida per le humanities.

English Abstract A challenge for the humanities. This article proposes to rethink the role of the humanities avoiding any defensive position and moving rather from a self-critical reflection on the less and less incisive role thatthey attributed to themselves in recent decades. According to the author, the new role of humanites should be based on the awareness of the radical emergency that marks our time – the possibility of human extinction – and of the need to find new convergenceswith the natural sciences.
