INTERTEXTUAL COMPETENCE AND CULTURAL EVOLUTION NOWADAYS The present paper proposes to consider intertexts, that reflect the interaction between two semiotic systems, i.e. language and culture, as key concepts of linguistic world view. Inside of intertextual encyclopedia, that encompasses the repertoire of representative and cited works, utterances, themes, stereotypes and clichés, seems to be possible to distinguish between universal, national and individual encyclopedia. The current situation of cultural globalization, however, determines certain changes in the principles of interaction of different types of intertextual encyclopedia and reveals the necessity to reconsider the kind of cultural competence, required nowadays.
