The present paper describes a method of contrastive analysis of languages that have a language-speci c unit as a reference word (for example the Russian word душа: “soul”). The proposed method involves building formalized multilingual correspond- ences on the basis of parallel corpora, which can serve as an input for a supracorpora database. Each multilingual correspondence is a set on several bilingual correspond- ences for the same sentence of the source language (which in our study is Russian). Three models of bilingual correspondences are distinguished: “congruent”, “diver- gent” and “zero”. A typology of multilingual correspondence for two translation lan- guages (Italian and English) includes nine possible types, which are determined by the set of correspondence models used in the rst and second language of the trans- lation.
