This study examines the relationship between Bruno Leoni and the Italian political culture. Leoni’s liberalism was in many ways pioneering, and perhaps for this reason he was not properly understood by the Italian political culture which was isolated for a long time from some of the most innovative ideas of contemporary liberalism. But beyond the difficult relationship between Leoni and his country, there are interesting matters to analyse. On one hand there is Leoni’s analysis about the thought of two main Italian liberals of his age, Benedetto Croce and Luigi Einaudi. On the other hand there is the influence exercised by two philosopher of law, Ermanno Angelo Cammarata and Widar Cesarini Sforza, on his thought.

Abstract
This study examines the relationship between Bruno Leoni and the Italian political culture. Leoni’s liberalism was in many ways pioneering, and perhaps for this reason he was not properly understood by the Italian political culture which was isolated for a long time from some of the most innovative ideas of contemporary liberalism. But beyond the difficult relationship between Leoni and his country, there are interesting matters to analyse. On one hand there is Leoni’s analysis about the thought of two main Italian liberals of his age, Benedetto Croce and Luigi Einaudi. On the other hand there is the influence exercised by two philosopher of law, Ermanno Angelo Cammarata and Widar Cesarini Sforza, on his thought.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
