The author examines the presence of French symbolism in Eugenio Montale’s early literary production. She also focuses on the way authors such as Henri-Friédérich Amiel, Georges Duhamel and Paul Verlaine influenced Montale when he moved towards the more thought-out classicism that characterizes Ossi di seppia. This essay, while founding a dialogue between Montale’s poetry and that of other authors (such as Corboère, Fargue, Fontainas, Proust, Samain), provides a spectrum of examples which allow to understand his stylistic evolution, marked by his attitude to a finer and finer intertextuality.

Abstract
The author examines the presence of French symbolism in Eugenio Montale’s early literary production. She also focuses on the way authors such as Henri-Friédérich Amiel, Georges Duhamel and Paul Verlaine influenced Montale when he moved towards the more thought-out classicism that characterizes Ossi di seppia. This essay, while founding a dialogue between Montale’s poetry and that of other authors (such as Corboère, Fargue, Fontainas, Proust, Samain), provides a spectrum of examples which allow to understand his stylistic evolution, marked by his attitude to a finer and finer intertextuality.File in questo prodotto:
