The implementation of the water framework directive (WFD) (60/2000) in agriculture is receiving increasing attention. In theory, the water management principles proposed by the WFD could bring about major changes in irrigation management, through the introduction of (Full) Cost Recovery (FCR) and the Polluter Pays Principle (PPP). The objective of this paper is to provide an analysis of the economic, social and environmental sustainability of irrigated agriculture in Italy within the context of the post-Agenda 2000 CAP Reform and of the Water Framework Directive. Abstract
The research was carried out within the framework of the WADI project “Sustainability of European Irrigated Agriculture under Water Framework Directive and Agenda 2000”I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
