Abstract
In order to measure the local temperature on a plate covered by a thin sheet of encapsulated thermosensitive liquid crystals, a proper calibration is needed. Difficulties are introduced by the particular specifications and inherent constraints of our experimental apparatus, such as an unfavourable view window and the unavoidable presence of shadows. Following the described image processing and calibration procedure, a robust relationship between the hue field and the temperature field is obtained. The overall accuracy of the developed technique stays within ±0.1 K in the liquid crystal colour-play interval.File in questo prodotto:
