Abstract

The dependence of the shot noise suppression factor on the length of a mesoscopic cavity is investigated using numerical techniques based on the recursive Green's function approach and on the scattering matrix formalism. Our findings show that such a dependence disappears as soon as the magnetic field is raised above a threshold value and that there is no significant effect of the detailed behavior of the potential landscape inside the cavity.
